performance rating probs

performance rating and probs

what is this performance rating? Is 1 better than 5 ? I am running at a 2 is that great or not.
Anyways, the real reason I am writing you good people is under this performance rating it states that I haver performance issues.
I have 3 total but lets start with this one then I move on
drivers are causing windows to start slowly
after viewing details all I see is the following please help me remove correct these:
ushub.sys modemcsa.sys msisci.sys
do i need these for something important? I looked in the device drivers but dont see them listed there. where do l look for updated ones or better yet microsoft site search comes up nadda.
help me please i am a performance buff but dont know how to get there LOL love new things too so new over performance until vista hogs my entire HD

I"ve run Vista on a Toxhiba laptop with a rating of 1 - it was very painful!
The usbhub is probably your USB controller - if you don't use USB devices it's probably not necessary
The modem... thingie is for your modem - do you use it?
1) Go to the Vista download site and search for legacy drivers - there was a package released recently that has fixed some of the problems. I haven't used it so I can't help you there.
2) Go to the manufacturer of each device's website and look for Vista drivers there - your motherboard for USB controller updates, etc
Good luck! That's what Beta testing is all about!

No, it is just the opposite. 5 is the best. 1 is the worst. I think you

need at least a 3 to run the Aero Glass UI. Assuming of course, that your video card (or onboard video) meets the requirements.

finally some great help. Thanks. I am running at a 2 and it appears I have aero glass appearance. The display settings are at its highest and have option of intensity ect,
thanks just goosed me ram up to 2.5G and seems to help but ratings didnt change. To me its a sucker system to get us to buy more progs and pcs dont ya think?

I do agree, HOWEVER! the ratings for each hardware type are done on a test, not just because your graphics card is ATI x9999 with 512mb ram lol. so its prob not best to test it after a lonnnngg gaming session or w/e.
Also, the overall rating is NOT an average. It is the lowest particular rating rounded DOWN to the nearest 1 lol. So if everything is like 3.4-4.2 except ur free space is like about 2.7 (bit like mine lol) then ur rating is going to be 2.
Unfortunate? Yes, harsh? yes, however if you manage to get the overall rating about 3 or even 4, u got a god in ur CPU lol
